This project looked at information collected from adults with learning disabilities.  We wanted to know why they often feel unwell.

What we did

Doctors and Nurses collected information about the physical health of 1023 adults with learning disabilities living in Greater Glasgow.

What we found

People with learning disabilities often have a lot of unexplained symptoms and signs of illness such as a skin rash or headache.

Often these symptoms can be painful.

What we will do next

A report has been written and it has been published in a health journal.

We will share our findings to make improvements to health checks.
