Health of children with autism
This project looked at the health of children with autism.
What we did
We looked at the general health of children aged 0-24 with autism.
We compared how good or bad children and young people with autism said their health was.
This information was collected in Scotland's Census 2011.
What we found
There are 19,880 boys with autism.
There are 5,183 girls with autism.
Children and young people with autism are more likely to have poor general health.
Girls with autism have poorer health than boys with autism.
What we will do next
We have written a report and will share the information we have found with health providers.
