Inclusive research

Research for Everyone

Research for everyone is a collaboration between people with learning disabilities, health researchers at the University of Glasgow, and third sector organisations in Scotland with the aim of making complex health research easier to understand for wider audiences.

We have translated two published health studies – one on football and neurodegenerative disease, and one on cancer and mental health – and co-created three outputs from each: a short animation, an infographic and a podcast. The three different formats were chosen to support people with different communications needs to engage with the research.

This is Me: Valuing the lives of people with learning disabilities

In 2022, we worked with self advocates with learning disabilities and family carers, alongside the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities, PAMIS (Promoting a More Inclusive Society) and Down's Syndrome Scotland to raise awareness of the experiences of people with learning disabilities. Through a series of short films, our aim was to challenge stigma and discrimination and influence positive change. Find out more about this work.
